LDAP connection
The user administration of the SMC can be linked to an existing user administration by means of the lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP). This means there is no duplicated maintenance of user accounts and the users can use their own familiar access data for the SMC as well.
It goes without saying that the SMC also has its own user administration, should there be no LDAP available or if this is not used.
Interfaces
In order to read data from the repository, different interfaces are offered which can also be combined according to their purpose. This enables other applications to exchange data and interact easily with the SMC. Standard protocols such as Web-Services or CIFS are used.
Apart from the documented standard API interfaces of the SMC customer-specific interfaces can be set up and used – at a reasonable expense, as a rule. The SMC thus becomes a central tool in the closed chain of information within your company.
